Explore the town of Mazatlan and discover treasures in the best shopping areas of Mazatlan. You will find the best shopping in Mazatlan in The Zona Dorada, which means The Golden Zone. Here you will find an abundance of fantastic shops, restaurants, bars and discotecas.

The Mazatlan Arts and Crafts Center is the place to go for authentic Mexican handicrafts. Local artisans fill the center while hard at work creating beautiful and unique crafts of all shapes, sizes and materials. It is impossible to leave empty-handed.

Another must-visit shopping trip is The Copper Gallery. With beautiful and one-of-a-kind handmade copper pieces, The Copper Gallery is a great place to find souvenirs and new home decorations to bring back a piece of your trip to Mexico. All pieces come from artisans in the mountain town of Santa Clara del Cobre.

The culture of the historic Mazatlan is something that needs to be experienced first-hand. From the annual Mazatlan Carnival to bullfighting to the Mazatlan Cathedral, Mazatlan is full of endless experiences for you to learn and enjoy.

The Mazatlan Carnival attracts people from all over the country. Singing, dancing, food, bands, ribbons and celebrations take place for miles down the beachfront during the week before Lent. As one of the largest celebrations in the world, the Mazatlan Carnival attracts up to 300,000 – 400,000 partygoers each year.

For the educational side of you, Mazatlan is full of historical museums. From the Mazatlan Archaeological Museum to the Sea Shell Museum to the Art Museum, Mazatlan has a museum to attract every personality and interest.

Shopping

Jade Boutique

Located on the resort property, the Jade Boutique is a must visit for shoppers. From hand blown glasses to precious gem stones, the Jade Boutique in Mazatlan is a step above most resort boutiques. There are fabulous bathing suits and cover ups for men, women and children, Guayabera shirts for big and small as well as every imaginable type of sunscreen, sunhat and sand toy. Make time to shop at the Jade Boutique before venturing out to the local town. The prices at Jade are comparable and sometimes better, and they are happy to ship things home – which is wonderful, especially if it is heavy. And don’t miss the evening sale every Thursday!

Sun Market

Dining on a budget or have kids that only each noodles with butter? The Sunshine Market has the variety of a large grocery store but located on the Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta property. This is a regular first stop for many families coming to Mayan Palace resorts. With fresh baked bread daily, wine, milk, soda, chips, sandwich supplies, candy, newspaper, magazines and more, Sun Market is a one-stop shop for every thing you’ll need during your stay.
