Discover the beauty of La Jolla de Cortes with Mayan Palace
Hidden at the northern curve of the Gulf of California, Puerto Peñasco bridges the Baja Peninsula to the rest of Mexico with wide, sandy beaches. Known for its shallow water, this fishing village has become a destination for fishing and beach vacationers. The town has grown from a fail attempt to find precious metals and instead found an extensively rich fish population. The totoaba fish was once harvested as the industry leader for its medical use.

CLIMATE
As a part of the greater Sonoran Desert, the climate is warm and dry. The Sea of Cortes brings a slight breeze through the air but the real refreshing feeling comes when the sun sets. The night air is cool especially in the winter.
The weather shares more seasons than other Mayan Palace locations. The summers are sunny and warm with the highs reaching to the mid-90s. During the winter months (December to February), the high only reaches the mids 60s. The spring has a mild rainy season as the desert prefers little rain and lots of sun!
