CLIMATE
The weather in Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta is more or less of a Caribbean type climate with warm days and more than 300 days a year of sunshine. The temperatures range from 68 – 95 degrees Fahrenheit and the water in the Banderas Bay is calm and perfect for swimming almost all year round.
Located very close to the equator and on the same latitude as Hawaii, the climate and calm boating environment make Nuevo Vallarta one of Mexico’s favorite destinations, frequented year round by travelers from the US, Canada and around the world.

TRANSPORTATION
The Puerto Vallarta International Airport is 3 kilometers (1.1 mile) from the Mayan Palace Resort. It is served by Aeromexico, Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, America West, Aviacsa, Continental Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Lineas Aereas Azteca, Sun Country and United Airlines. Private, hotel-chauffeured transportation is available for airport transfers. Taxi services and rental cars (4x4s are the most popular) are also available. There is valet and self-parking at the Mayan Palace Resort.
Once at the resort, guests can explore Mayan Palace by foot, by resort shuttle and soon by water taxi. Accommodations, the Brio Spa, gourmet restaurants, and beaches are all on the resort property.

- Beaches: Puerto Vallarta offers 25 miles of golden beaches within the spectacular Banderas Bay.
- Malecon: This boardwalk stretches along the Playa de los Muertos beach, the length of downtown Vallarta. This walkway doubles as a seawall and allows you to observe the bay, beaches, mountains and the downtown area shops. Along the boardwalk are art exhibits, street performers, boutique shopping and wonderful places to drink and dine.
- Nueva Valley: An Indian community populated by 130 natives. Tours allow you to meet the Huicholes and be welcomed with a spiritual cleansing ceremony led by a cultural leader. They will allow you to come into their Huichol Temple and perform ceremonial dances and music for you. Discover the incredible culture of this community and purchase intricate, beautiful Huichol handcrafts.
- Puerto Vallarta: Old Town is lined with white-washed homes and shops. South of the Cuale River, the Zona Romantica has Puerto Vallarta's highest density of restaurants and tourist-oriented shops.
- San Sebastian de Oeste: Behind Puerto Vallarta in the Sierra Madre Mountains, this old mining town founded over 400 years ago is beautiful and serene. The town retains its history and heritage in the well-preserved buildings that are up to 250 years old.
- Sayulita: Located on the Pacific coast of Nayarit, Sayulita is a beautiful fishing village.
